Im Jahr 2018 begann alles mit einem angeblichen Prank-Video zu Halloween, das "viral" ging. Immer mehr Leute wurden "geprankt" und "prankten" dann ihrerseits andere. Das Jahr 2018 gilt seither als Jahr des Ausbruchs.
Rusty
Rusty Springfield war Mitglied einer Biker-Gang, seine Ăberlebensinstinkte hat er in den hĂ€rtesten GefĂ€ngnissen des Landes gestĂ€hlt. Das neue FreiheitsgefĂŒhl seit dem Ausbruch gefĂ€llt ihm, obwohl das Bier knapp ist. Rusty war zunĂ€chst mit den Raiderz unterwegs, doch trennte sich nach einem Streit ĂŒber die Ehre einer Ăberlebenden, der drei Raiderz das Leben kostete.
Maddie
Maddie Mills hat mit Mutter und Stiefvater gelebt, aber nicht viel von ihnen mitgekriegt, sondern ihre Zeit am Handy verbracht. Sie hat ihren Vater besucht, als der Ausbruch geschah. So kommt sie nun zu ihrem treuen Begleiter Frank.
Sarge
Sergeant Joe Nolan ist ein kampfgestĂ€hlter Veteran, aus dem MilitĂ€r entlassen nach Anschuldigungen, er habe im Dienst geschmuggelt. Er hat sich als Transportmakler gut durchgeschlagen, aber gelangweilt. Dann kam der Ausbruch, und nun genieĂt Sarge es, wieder mitten im Geschehen zu sein.
Ghost
Tim "Ghost" Lee hat sich am liebsten mit seinem Graffiti ausgedrĂŒckt. Jetzt sagt er einfach wenig. Ghost ist Parcoursfan und Taekwondo-Ass. Seinen Spitznamen hat er der Tatsache zu verdanken, dass er sich an Orte schleichen kann, von denen andere nur trĂ€umen können. Mit Maddie hat er eine Art stummer VerstĂ€ndigung entwickelt und geht regelmĂ€Ăig mit ihr auf Beschaffungstouren.
Lucky
Ăber Lucky ist wenig bekannt, auch ihr echter Name nicht. Das ist ihr auch ganz recht so. Ihr ĂŒberschĂ€umendes Temperament tut der Moral der anderen Ăberlebenden gut, aber ihre AnfĂ€lle irren GelĂ€chters können mitten in der Wildnis durchaus problematisch werden.
